What does the Cartier Declaration smell like?
I think the dry aspect saves it and makes it possible to wear it even when it’s hot. The spice mix is so dry, cold and strong that heat and humidity barely affect the smell. The idea of a sweat smell is interesting because it’s just as useless a description as calling something blue. I’m a big fan of Jean Claude Ellena’s works, I like the fact that even the heaviest notes can be treated almost ethereally, and Declaration is widely regarded as a classic in Cartier’s lineup. This time, however, I decided to make an effort to relax, appreciate the scent for what it was, and reduce my inhibitions about the smell of sweat
