The Principality of Andorra, also known as Andorra, is a sovereign landlocked microstate located in the eastern Pyrenees of the Iberian Peninsula. It is bordered by France to the north and Spain to the south. Andorra, which is thought to have been founded by Charlemagne, was governed by the county of Urgell until 988, when the Roman Catholic Diocese of Urgell took over. ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION AND HABITAT PROTECTION IN ANDORRA
