What is Vogue known for?
Today’s Vogue magazine deals with a wide range of social life topics, partly due to the wide reach of social media. Unlike Vogue covers, which took up an entire page, this was not the case with many other images and ads. The images, spread across Vogue’s 400,000 pages, added up to five terabytes of data, and it took nine days to transfer them to a desktop computer. Yale librarians Peter Leonard and Lindsay King are now becoming Vogue experts no longer because of their interest in next season’s fashion, but because of extensive efforts to digitize the
magazine’s entire data set.
Although its focus is on fashion, Vogue offers new perspectives on interesting topics such as design, architecture, celebrities, art and culture, travel, fun, and a regular dose of horoscopes.
