Gucci

Gucci was founded in 1921 in Florence, Italy, by Guccio Gucci and has been a subsidiary of Kering since 1999, according to Wikipedia. Its creative directors have been Alessandro Michele (2015-2022), Sabato De Sarno (2023-2025) and Demna, who has led the house since March 2025.

Dior

Christian Dior founded the house in 1946, and the first collection in February 1947 introduced the New Look silhouette. It is based at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris, and Christian Dior Couture is a subsidiary of LVMH. Jonathan Anderson has been creative director since 2025.

How they ranked

FashionNetwork, reporting Brand Finance’s 2025 luxury and premium ranking published in May 2025, said Dior held sixth place and was the world’s strongest brand on Brand Finance’s strength index, with a score of 93.5. Gucci fell from fifth to ninth, with brand value down 23.6 percent.
