Laurent grew up near the train tracks and had an innate curiosity for the world around her. A family friend, who noticed Laurent’s keen sense of smell and her tendency to “meet the nose of the world first,” encouraged her to pursue perfumery. After studying perfumery at the ISIPCA in Versailles, Laurent began her career as an apprentice to Jean-Paul Guerlain.
